Iron nanocrystals in ~ 2 billion years old fossil bacteria support oxygenic photosynthesis

We show, in 1.88 billion year old microfossils, a pattern of cellular preservation combined with internal iron nanominerals consistent with oxygenic photosynthetic bacteria.
